PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist Review

If you are a fan of PewDiePie, the huge YouTuber who seems to be everywhere now, you are going to like this game. If you don’t, not so much.

Like most celebrities, it was foreseen that a gamer like PewDiePie, or Felix Kjellberg to get his own game. Other celebrities are Smosh and Kim Kardashian if you were wondering.

Outerminds, the developers, has created a 2D side-scrolling platformer starring the YouTuber himself. Brofist is style wise, basically like a huge Super Mario rip-off. It still has its moments of originality of course. You’ll be met by funny dialogs and characters. I mean, it’s a game starring one of YouTubes funniest personas, of course its going to be funny.

The plot is about all of PewDiePie’s fans getting captured by barrels, PewDiePie’s most hated enemy in all of his videos. You’ll therefore embark on a journey fighting wolves, weird creatures and of course, barrels. Just like Super Mario, you have to stomp on their heads to beat them.

The game not only features a story mode, but a survival mode as well. The levels are not really that hard, but their just easy/hard enough to like them. The game’s visuals are probably what makes this game so fun. It really has that authentic 90’s feels to it. It also features a nice retro soundtrack which I personally really liked. The most suprising about Brofist, is that it also features the voices of other YouTubers, as well as PewDiePie himself.

All in all, it was really fun to play Brofist. However, if you aren’t a fan of his videoes, I’m not quite sure if you are going to like it. It will then probably like just any other sidescroller on the Play Store.

Anways, what do you think? Is it worth the $4.99?
