[UPDATE] After the news broke, developers CI Games issued a statement to clarify that the game is not an actual port, but a different experience. CEO Marek Tyminski said, “we’re currently working on a mobile game that takes place in the Lords of the Fallen universe, which we’re aiming to launch on iOS and Android in 2015. It will not be a straight port of the game though, but rather a brand new Lords of the Fallen experience. More details on that are still to come.”
This certainly came as a surprise!
Of all the games that could have been ported to mobile devices, I never would have expected the hulking warrior from action PC and console game, Lords of the Fallen, to grace my tablet. It is almost a triple-A game and very clunky I would imagine to port to small scale devices. As expected, the game will also be released on iOS. No concrete date and other details have been given except that it will be released in 2015.
This news came courtesy of Lords of the Fallen’s Twitter account (yes, games have twitter accounts now too).
“UPDATE: Console and PC RPG #LordsoftheFallen will be released on iOS and Android devices in 2015!”
Lords of the Fallen is heavily inspired by the Dark Souls games and boasts amazing graphics that highlight how massive the bosses are. All these make for incredibly epic boss fights. Coupled with an over-the-top muscular warrior who wields double-handed swords that are bigger than himself, and you have yourself a winning formula. The game was praised by reviewers for its strategic element in figuring out how to defeat the various bosses.
Stay tuned to Android Entity for more news about the impending release of Lords of the Fallen on Android devices. Personally, I’m very interested to see the control system that will be used, and whether they can match the amazing graphics on console/PC.
