Benji Bananas is that type of game that tends to swing onto your phone and hold tight for a long time, entertaining you during the time and proving that endless swinging adventures like this one can take you far for free.
After spending countless hours collecting bananas, getting to hate snakes and taking a good beating from tigers, I have decided that it’s time to take a break and share with you my Benji Bananas review just before I head back to my little jungle to swing some more.
Things in Benji Bananas are not extremely original to start with: we’ve seen the genre and the type of play often before, but it still manages to be extremely addictive and appealing. You play as a monkey who feels the love and has to collect tons of bananas to make his beloved monkey love him even more. The fun part only now begins, with you swinging from vine to vine, trying to go as far as possible while, at the same time, collecting as many bananas as possible. It’s an endless adventure with an endless list of reasons why you’ll love it.
The control scheme is a bit odd at first and takes some time to get used with: in Benji Bananas, tapping and holding the lower right side of the device makes Benji the monkey ready to grab a vine. After grabbing it, you have to hold the vine and release only when you want to “jump” which requires perfect timing in some occasions and frustration in others. However, this control scheme will only be problematic for the first few minutes, soon you’ll get used with it and it will work as a charm.
There are also missions that you complete for extra rewards, the graphics are sweet and even though the game is free, there are no annoying ads or a real need for in-game purchases (actually, I don’t even know if there’s such an option – it’s so natural to play the game without even thinking about spending a dime on it).
